Russell Atkinson's statement as new Treasurer

“I rejoined the club 2 years ago after an absence of 17 years. My original intention was to offer my services as a scorer, but as the club had just formed a second eleven to play in the Development League and was rather short on players, I was roped into representing the club as a player 35 years after my first appearance for the MCC back in 1975.
My second lease of life with the club as a player has been most enjoyable if not productive and for the 2012 season I offered my services as club treasurer, because I consider that the more people we can get involved in the running of the club, so much the better for the success of the club.”
