To play in the National League the Madrid Cricket Club needs to provide in each game an Umpire and a Scorer or else we are liable to be fined by Cricket España. For this reason Madrid Cricket Club has decided to  put a note out to all in case someone is interested in assisting the club in these two areas. These positions are available to anyone meaning wives, girlfriends can also apply.

Umpires

There will be two games on one weekend so the person who decides to become an umpire must have knowledge of the game and also some level of fitness.

A course for Umpires will be given in mid May at La Manga Club Resort by two qualified umpires from the UK. This may be of interest to some as the best umpire in the league may be asked by the ECC to umpire in an international level with all expenses paid.

Scorers

The other position that needs to be filled is that of the Scorer.
The scorer will have to take note off all the deliveries and runs made by the batsmen and also assist the other teams' scorer on identifying the players of the Madrid Cricket Club.
This position is a little more delicate to that of the Umpire as the Scorer will need to be able to sit, have good eyesight, add and also throw down a few drinks between runs.

Please note, even though you take one of these roles it does not mean that you cannot train with the team or that you will not be selected as a player in the touring squad.
