2009 Madrid CC awards

Madrid CC is delighted to announce its award winners for the 2009 season.
The trophies were handed over to the winners at the end-of-season lunch held at O'Neill's Irish pub on Sunday December 13th.

Batsman of the year - Tariq Ali Awan
Bowler of the year - Warren Meredith
Most improved player - Mohit Chandiramani
Clubman of the year - Jonathan Woodward

Madrid Cricket Club features in BBC World Service report on cricket in Spain

Madrid CC Vice-Captain Zubin Cooper, leading player Irshad Khan and Secretary David Stirton all feature in a radio report on cricket in Spain by freelance journalist Ashish Sharma. Ashish travelled with the club to the recent 20Twenty cricket tournament in La Manga to record the piece, which was broadcast on the BBC World Service programme World Cricket. Also featured are Cricket España Chairman Phil Beal, Director of Cricket George Wambeek and several players from different teams participating in the tournament. Radio report>>
