 1809 -

Cricket is played in Spain for the first time.

 1975 -

The first Madrid Cricket Club is formed.

 1982 -

The Barcelona Cricket Club is formed and the first game between the two clubs is played.

 1985 -

Three new clubs are formed in Spain.

 1986 -

A further three clubs are formed.

 1987 -

The Malaga Cricket Association is formed as well as three new clubs.

 1989 -

The Spanish Cricket Association (Asociación Española de Cricket - AEC) is formed and its executive committee meets for the first time in Madrid.

 1990 -

A second club is formed in Mallorca.

Marbella C.C. and Javea C.C. are formed.

 1992 -

The AEC becomes an affiliate member of the ICC.

A Spanish team takes part in the European Cricketer's Cup in the UK.

An attempt is made to form a league in Spain. A lack of funds prevents this though the Acorn Hotel Group sponsors the National Cup.

Two new grass cricket grounds are opened in Cartama and Menoria.

 1993 -

Javea C.C. wins the Spanish Cup in its first full season.

A national umpiring course is organised.

A new administration is elected to the AEC.

 1994 -

A new ground is opened in Mallorca and the Mallorca C.C. is formed.

The A.E.C. is restructured.

A correspondence course for umpires is started.

 1995 -

Columbus Insurance sponsors the National League for three years.

Spanish tour to Italy.

Spain plays against Portugal in Cartama.

Sporting Alfas C.C. is formed.

The MCC tours Spain.

Cricket is recognised as an official sport in Spain.

Agreement made between Javea C.C. and the Council to develop youth cricket. The council agrees to help in the provision of funds and facilities.

The Spanish Association of Umpires and Scorers is formed.

 1996 -

Spain becomes a member of the European Cricket Federation.

SunAlliance sponsors the Spanish Cup.

MCC coach visits Spain.

A new club is formed in Las Palmas.

 1997 -

Sponsorship of the Spanish Cup is strengthened.

Spain becomes a founder member of the European Cricket Council and the Spanish chairman is elected onto the Executive Committee.

Keith Shingler is elected Development Officer in Spain and takes advantage of support available from the ICC, MCC and ECB.

Great advances in the provision of Kwik Cricket in Spain. Competitions based on Kwik Cricket have been organised with up to twenty teams competing in them.

 2000 -

Intellectuals C.C. (Alicante) is founded.

 2001 -

Cricket is played in Madrid again.

 2002 -

The new Madrid C.C. is formed and plays its inaugural match against Sporting Alfas C.C. on the Costa Blanca.

 2007 -

The inaugural Spanish National Cricket League was played with 8 teams. The league was split into two divisions, covering the North and South of the country, where each team had to play each other twice. The top two sides from both Northern and Southern conferences which contest the semi-finals were Madrid, La Manga, Sporting Alfas I and Javea.  The winners of each semi-final were Madrid and Sporting Alfas I and played the final in La Manga on the 8^th of September. Sporting Alfas I beat Madrid, becoming the winner of the first Spanish League Edition.

The 1st Solidarity Cricket Tournament on behalf of UNICEF is played in Madrid. Four teams took part of the event: Great Britain, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Rest of the World. The winner was Pakistan and €2,000 were raised.

 2008 -

The 2nd Edition of the Spanish National Cricket League was played with 10 teams, 5 in the North League and 5 in the South League. As of 7th of May Javea withdrew from the North League. The semi-finalists were Barcelona, Sporting Alfas I, Valencia Green and Madrid. The 6th of September Barcelona and Valencia Green played the final in La Manga and Valencia Green crowned new League Champions.

 2009 -

The 2nd Solidarity Cricket Tournament will be played in La Manga in April, on behalf of the Vicente Ferrer Foundation and the development of cricket in Madrid. Eight teams will take part of the event: Amsterdam, Bank of England, Belsize Village, La Manga, Madrid, Milton Keynes, Mojacar, One team TBC.
